Mosaic workshops- Creativity and Walking group

This was our third week in the mosaic masterclass and we are now half way through the programme. I had some great help setting up the session with everyone now knowing what materials and equipment they need for the session and how to pack up and clean everything away at the end of the session.

This week gave the chance for the group to finish off their decorative starter tiles and grout up ready to clean off next week. In the meantime others had already taken their decorative tiles home and were really happy with the work they had produced.

Speaking to the group as we started the session, we shared ideas and some members said that they were really proud of what they had achieved so far. One of the group members said that when she had taken her mosaic piece home it was placed proudly on display and the topic of conversation when family visited for Father's day celebrations that weekend. Even the man at the local newsagents wanted to see it and was really impressed with the work. This led to others sharing their thoughts and feelings about their work which were all positive and encouraging.

We had a great session with everyone now focusing on their final piece of work. Everyone has now chosen what they plan to produce as a final piece of artwork with the majority choosing to design and decorate glass vases and bigger decorative tiles.

The picture shows the start of one of the glass vase designs and I can't wait to see how everyone's work will transform over the coming weeks along with their new set of skills and confidence.

Until next week....
